ABOUT THIS SERVICE

Tree Felling & Removal, Done Properly

Not every tree can be dropped in one piece. In most North Wales gardens there's a house, a fence, a greenhouse or a neighbour's roof within reach, so I usually dismantle trees in sections, climbing or working from the ground and lowering each piece under control. Where there is genuinely open space, a straight fell is quicker and cheaper, and I'll tell you honestly which approach suits your tree.

Typical removals I carry out include conifers that have outgrown a small plot, ash trees affected by ash dieback, storm-weakened sycamores and trees whose roots are lifting paths or drives. Before any cut, I check whether the tree is covered by a Tree Preservation Order or sits in a conservation area, because felling without council consent can lead to a fine.

Once the tree is down, I can log the timber for you to keep, chip the brash, and grind the stump below ground level so the space is ready to use again. The site is raked and swept before I leave.

QUESTIONS

Tree Felling Questions

The price depends on the height of the tree, how close it is to buildings, and how the timber needs to come out. A small garden tree with clear access costs far less than a large conifer that has to be dismantled in sections over a roof. I give a fixed written price after seeing the tree, so there are no surprises.

You need written council consent if the tree has a Tree Preservation Order or you live in a conservation area. Denbighshire, Conwy and Flintshire councils all hold this information. I check the status as part of my visit and can help you with the application before any work goes ahead.

Most single garden trees are felled and cleared in a day. Larger trees, several trees, or jobs where everything has to be carried through the house or down a narrow side passage can take two days. I'll give you a realistic timescale with the quote.

Yes. I can cut the trunk into stove-length rounds and stack them where you want them, or take everything away. Just let me know when you enquire so I can price it accordingly.

I can leave it cut low to the ground, or grind it out below the surface so you can turf, plant or pave over the area. Stump grinding can be booked on the same day as the felling.
